Social workshop FULL HEARTS

FULL HEARTS is social workshop where people with and without special needs work together. In this workshop we make notebooks, notepads, postcards, special exercise books for Waldorf schools, etc. Every day we come together with hearts full of love, dedication to work and diligence.

Our social workshop is a part of AKVILA, Home for social therapy, NGO. We are building AKVILA home according to the International CAMPHILL movement, when, guided by the principles of Anthroposophical Social Therapy, each member of the community puts their best into the joint work. Here we focus on the human need for relationships and social life, but at the same time we respect everyone's personal autonomy. In the AKVILA community, we not only work together, but also celebrate and live a rich social and cultural life.

AKVILA is a member of Camphill Norther Region Association

Pertvarka

This workshop is part of the PERTVARKA.LT project. This project is the transformation of Institutional Care taking place throughout Lithuania, when children and adults living in Institutions are returned to the community to live, study, get employment and work, where their needs are met in accordance with the "Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities"

Our goals

The purpose of social workshops is to increase employment opportunities for people with special needs in the open labor market, to develop and maintain work skills by performing meaningful work activities aimed at the production of a specific product or service. We strive to create a sense of community and professional identity for each of our members.

Why is this important?

Until now, disabled people in Lithuania were more often involved in various artistic activities, the nature of which is more recreational than educational. However, it is useful for the person himself to acquire specific skills and possibly start working and earning in the future. It creates a sense of meaning, especially when one can at least partially take care of oneself. In social workshops, people already learn and work today.

Success stories

One of the goals of the social workshop is to prepare and accompany a person with an  to the open labor market. We are very happy that our workshop participants are preparing and participating in this process.

Anyway, for the day we already have 2 participants, Mindaugas and Martynas, who work in the open labor market. Mindaugas works in a carpet cleaning company, and Martynas in a logistics warehouse.

We are also proud of those who are currently looking for work.

"Valakupiai Rehabilitation Center" and its assisted employment specialists help our participants to participate in the open labor market.

Social work that change destinies

The social worker of our workshop, Dalia Tamulionytė-Krilavičienė, was invited to participate in the project of the Ministry of Social Security and Labor of the Republic of Lithuania. She shared about how social workers influence people's lives, the help they provide helps to grow and improve, to discover oneself and one's own life path.
